John C. Cavanaro, P.E. - Managing Principal

John began his consulting engineering career as a summer intern at Ammann & Whitney as a resident engineer during the initial stages of the redevelopment of Boston University’s residential campus in the summer of 1989.  Since then, he has been part of some of the most transformative projects in the region over the past thirty years, including the Central Artery/Third Harbor Tunnel project; Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor High Speed Train electrification extension to Boston; and a mix of thousands of assignments involving local, state & federal design and permitting of private, commercial, and municipal facilities across the Commonwealth.

John founded Cavanaro Consulting in 2001 with the clear vision of assembling the best and brightest minds in the business to develop creative solutions with innovative ideas to help our clients achieve success in a timely manner.

John has served on the Design Review Board for the Town of Cohasset since 2009 and has been an active member of the community for over 22 years.  In his spare time, John savors the magnificent terrain of the South Shore by sea, bike and foot.
